Teachers’ Orientation Programme 29 May 2026
With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, the Teachers’ Orientation Programme at Sacred Heart Girls’ High School commenced on 28 May 2026 in an atmosphere of warmth, fellowship and renewed dedication to the noble vocation of teaching. The programme began with a hearty and gracious welcome that immediately set the tone for a meaningful and enriching day. This was followed by a solemn Opening Prayer and Scripture Reading accompanied by a heartfelt hymn invoking the Holy Spirit, seeking God’s wisdom, guidance and blessings for the new academic year ahead. The deeply touching Prayer of the Faithful uplifted every heart and reminded all present of the sacred responsibility entrusted to educators. Rev. Sr. Beena, Principal of St. Euphrasia School, warmly welcomed our esteemed dignitaries — our Manager Rev. Sr. Shanta Selvaraj, Principals Rev. Sr. Paulin, Rev. Sr. Felicitas, Rev. Sr. Philo and Rev. Sr. Rita from the institutions under the Good Shepherd Management, Vice Principal Ms. Jozina Braggs and Mr. Nageshwara Rao of the P.U. College. A very special welcome was extended to the Resource Person for the day, Ms. Elena Smith. Our respected Manager, Rev. Sr. Shanta Selvaraj, then addressed the gathering with words that inspired commitment and purpose. She graciously introduced the newly appointed teachers and emphasized the core values that define the Good Shepherd institutions — Commitment and Excellence, Collaboration and Unity, and above all, Care for Every Child Beyond Academics. Rev. Sr. also thoughtfully read out the Service Rules, reminding all educators of the dignity, discipline and responsibility that accompany the teaching profession. This meaningful session concluded beautifully with the inspiring hymn “Standing on the Shoulders,” which echoed sentiments of gratitude towards all those mentors and visionaries whose sacrifices continue to guide educators today. The programme then moved into a lively and engaging phase led by the vibrant resource person, Ms. Elena Smith. Through a series of exciting games, inspiring talks, thought-provoking video clips and interactive activities, she brilliantly revealed the hidden morals and deeper messages connected to the role of a teacher. Every activity became a gentle reminder that educators do far more than impart knowledge — they shape lives, nurture dreams and build the future with patience, compassion and understanding. A heartfelt vote of thanks was proposed by our beloved Principal, Rev. Sr. Felicitas, whose modest silence beautifully conceals remarkable skill, expertise, compassion and profound intelligence. Her gracious words of gratitude brought the memorable programme to a fitting conclusion. The day finally ended with a sumptuous lunch that not only satisfied appetites but also completed a day already overflowing with inspiration, fervour, fellowship and renewed enthusiasm to begin the new academic year with dedication and zeal. Indeed, the Teachers’ Orientation Programme 2026 was not merely an event, but a beautiful experience that rekindled the spirit of service and strengthened the mission of educating with love, wisdom and excellence.
