Blood Donors Day
On June 14, 2024, the NCC Cadets of Sacred Heart Girls' High School hosted a blood donation camp at the school, in partnership with the blood bank team from St. Martha's Hospital. This event was designed to raise awareness about the critical importance of blood donation, to encourage community service and appreciate the selfless contributions of voluntary blood donors. Students, staff and volunteers enthusiastically participated in this event.
This year's theme, "Blood Donation: A Gift of Life," successfully highlighted the lifesaving impact of blood donations, inspiring thousands to become regular donors.

World River Day Celebration
On September 24, 2024, the N.C.C. Cadets of Sacred Heart Girls' High School proudly organized a lake cleaning initiative at Ashraya Lake, located in Malleshpalya, Kaggadasapura, Bangalore, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This event was a key component of the SSCD initiative, designed to foster awareness and action around environmental conservation and civic responsibility.
The cadets engaged in various activities, including collecting litter and debris from the lake area, which not only beautified the surroundings but also contributed to the health of the local ecosystem. Their efforts aimed to raise awareness about the significance of protecting water bodies and the role they play in sustaining biodiversity.
This year's theme, "Preserving Rivers, Protecting Life," highlighted the crucial role rivers play in sustaining life on Earth.
This initiative not only demonstrated the cadets' commitment to environmental stewardship but also served as an educational platform for the community. Participants learned about the challenges facing rivers and lakes and the collective responsibility we share in preserving these vital resources. The event concluded with a discussion on sustainable practices and the importance of ongoing efforts to protect our natural environments, reinforcing the message of World River Day. Sacred Heart Girls High School triumphs at CADENCE 2024
We are delighted to share that Sacred Heart Girls High School achieved outstanding success at the CADENCE 2024, a National Level Inter-School Music Extravaganza Competition hosted by St. Joseph's Boys' High School on September 12th and 13th, 2024. Among 45 schools from across the city Sacred Heart Girls' High School emerged with a double victory in two categories cementing their reputation as a powerhouse of musical talent.
English Solo Singing (Senior): Talika Cariappa from Class 10 took home the first place trophy with her soulful rendition, impressing judges and audience alike.
English Duet (ISC)*: Elangela Marietta D'Almeida and Nina Roseann Soans from Class 11 mesmerized the audience with their harmonious performance securing the top spot.

Sacred Heart Girls' High School celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm. The students presented a beautiful dance performance, showcasing the importance of the Hindi language.

Teachers' Day Celebrations
A joyful tribute to teachers on 5th September 2024 was celebrated by Sacred H eart Girls' High School with immense excitement and happiness.
Heartfelt prayers led by our kind administration staff, explosive and upbeat dance performances and spirited acts by the children, a hilarious ramp walk for teachers with a theme from Bollywood 90's left teachers overwhelmed with emotion and laughter.
A beautiful Holy Eucharistic Mass led by celebrant Rev. Fr. Adrian Mascarenhas gave the event the sanctity a teacher's profession expresses.
The piece de resistance was a surprise scrumptious lunch at the Grand ITC Gardenia provided by the school's SHPTA with engaging games and personalised gifts by our alumni touched each and every teacher's heart.
Our Management, Principal and Vice Principal surpassed themselves making our special day 'Special' indeed. A day filled with joy, laughter and appreciation is truly a 'Teachers' Day' to remember!!

Sacred Heart Girls' High School held an Annual Sports extravaganza kick-started by the Primary School on 30th August 24. Our honourable Chief Guest Ms. Nikki Ponappa the renowned Golf Coach and Philanthropist witnessed the thrill, skill and determination of our young talented athletes! The tiny tots showcased their energy and agility in various fun races, cheered on by teachers and parents.
The exhilaration continued with an intense Sports Meet for the Middle, Senior and ISC students who were brimming with energy and enthusiasm, ready to battle it out in a range of sports events showcasing their prowess in track, field and individual events. The Chief Guest Dr. Marques Arokyanathan Principal and Secretary of YMCA College of Physical Education declared the Sports Meet open. The day gradually progressed into a frenzy of heightened excitement with effervescent and vivacious drill displays, challenging races and the most anticipated tug-of-war, which had each house vying for the coveted championship making it an exciting culmination to the extravaganza.

National Sports Day
On August 29, 2024, Sacred Heart Girls' High School marked National Sports Day in honor of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The Physical Education Department and Team Matchless hosted a 2km Heart and Sole Marathon themed "Marathon for the Safety of the Girl Child".
The event drew enthusiastic participation from parents, alumni, staff, and students, all united in support of this vital cause.

BIFROST Inter College/School Commerce Fest
Bifrost, the Annual Inter College/School Commerce Fest was held at St Joseph's Boys' High School on 23rd and 24th August, 2024.
Jessica Pearl of XA and Sarah Jordan of XI (Science) were Runners Up for the Product Launch Event.
Anamika Jha of XI (Commerce) was the Runner Up for Best Manager.

Freshers Day
The ISC Freshers day was celebrated on 17th of August 2024. The theme for the event was "Echoes of the Past" with a spectacular display of dresses pertaining to historical characters which truly inspired one and all.
Our Principal Rev. Sr Mary Margaret and Vice Principal Ms. Jozina Braggs graced the occasion. Students impressed the audience with the reason for their choice of dress and the most impressive Best Dressed was awarded.
The ramp walk and questionnaire session enabled the judges to choose "Miss Heartian 2024".
Games were conducted and an entertaining cultural programme was organised by the class 12 students.

Independence Day Celebrations
Sacred Heart Girls’ High School celebrated the 78th Independence Day with immense pride. We were honoured and privileged to have the esteemed Wing Commander Ravindranath as our Chief Guest who solemnly hoisted the Flag with pride and honour. This was followed by a spectacular March Past performed to Perfection. The various cultural events highlighted the unity in diversity. The active and dynamic participation of the Nursery, Primary, Middle School, High School and ISC students made this day an unforgettable one. The Awards and Recognitions Ceremony for students who displayed remarkable courage and presence of mind were acknowledged and a few awards were also given to remarkable parents for their outstanding dedication, proactive initiative and selfless service shown to SHGHS.
International Youth Day
International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12th. This day aims to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities faced by youth and to promote their engagement in social and political arenas.
At Sacred Heart Girls' High School, International Youth Day was observed with a special assembly which was conducted by the ISC students. An enlightening speech was delivered which focused on the duties and responsibilities of the youth. It also emphasised the rights of the youth in the global scenario.

2024 John Locke Institute Global Essay Competition - Likhita M
Likhita M, grade 10 student of SHGHS has been selected as the finalist in the 2024 John Locke Institute Global Essay Competition.
Her essay, under the category of Philosophy, answered the question of "Should people be responsible for what they believe ?” It was shortlisted from among 34,823 participants. Only 16,9% of the essayists in the same category, have been selected this year.
Likhita has been invited to Grosvenor House, Mayfair, London to celebrate this achievement and participate with different contestants from various places around the world, where the prize winners will be announced.

Quit India Celebration
On 8th August as we mark the important event of the Quit India movement. Sacred Heart Girls' High School remembered Gandhiji by celebrating this event and speaking on the importance of the main slogan as "Do or Die", and how to remain patriotic towards one nation.
Talk on Road Safety
Mr. V. Sridha and Mr. Ramakrishna from the Indian Development Foundation Charitable Public Trust visited our school to conduct a seminar on traffic awareness. They explained traffic rules and regulations to the students, emphasizing traffic safety, the dangers of road accidents, and the risks associated with mobile phone usage while driving and riding.
Primary Talents Day
The event was organised by the Sacred Heart Parent Teacher Association (SHPTA). There were five programs that was organised that is Fancy Dress, Action Song, Singing, Elocution in English, Kannada and Hindi languages for classes I to V.
The events began at 9:00 am, the judges were felicitated by the SHPTA President Rev. Sr Mary Margaret and the momentos were given by the Vice Principal, Ms Jozina Braggs followed by resumption of remaining events which ended at 12:30 pm. This was followed by the declaration of the prize winners for all the classes.
The event was a grand success and we would like to extend our gratitude to the Almighty God for his blessings on this special day. Our special thanks to the teaching staff and non-teaching staff for their constant support in making this program a grand success.

ACT Launch
The ACT committee in Sacred Heart Girls' High School welcomed its new student members on 7th August and discussed its future plans which include a butterfly garden and cleanliness drive. The ACT committee pledges to preserve the environment, create better citizens and sustain resources for future generations.
National Flag Day
National Flag Day is a celebration dedicated to honoring the significance of a nation's flag. Observed in various countries on different dates, it typically commemorates the adoption of the national flag and its role in symbolizing national unity, pride, and identity. Our school observed National Flag Day on 22 July, 2024 by conducting a short assembly on educational program to recognize the values and history represented by this emblem. The flag stands as a powerful symbol of a nation's heritage and ideals, fostering a sense of patriotism and collective identity.
Inter-School Quiz Competition
Inter-School quiz competition was conducted on 30th July 2024. The participating schools along with Sacred Heart Girls' High School were Good Shepherd School and St Euphrasia Girls' High School. The first prize for middle school quiz was bagged by Sacred Heart Girls' High School and the first prize for High School quiz was bagged by St. Euphrasia Girls' High School.
St. Mary Euphrasia's Birthday
The students and staff of Sacred Heart Girls' High School came together to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Mary Euphrasia, the patron saint of our school with great enthusiasm and devotion. A special assembly was held with a heart-rending speech by the Principal on the theme centering around St. Euphrasia's life and values of compassion, kindness and service, and to strive to follow her example and to reflect on the values she embodied. This was further enhanced by a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
Various activities such as flower arrangement competitions and rangoli competitions were the highlights of the day's festive atmosphere.

Poiesis: A Symphony of Talent
Our school was transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and competition as it hosted the much-awaited Poiesis event on 26th and 27th July, 2024. The two-day extravaganza showcased the exceptional talents of students from various schools in a dazzling array of competitions.
The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Hemala Ratnam, mother of Martyr Major Sylvester Rajesh Ratnam 21 JAT.
The stage witnessed the wit and creativity of participants in the Mad Ads competition and various other dance, music and fashion displays.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
On 26th July 2024, our school celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas with great fervor and patriotism. The event commemorates the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the Kargil War of 1999 and honors the bravery and sacrifice of the soliders who laid down their lives for the nation.
