Admission

Dear Students and Parents,

Greetings!

We're excited to welcome prospective students to the upcoming academic year! Here's a guide to what we offer and about our admission process.

Course Details:

Course Objectives: It’s different at Sacred Hearts!

While the understood objective of the course is to prepare our students to appear for Grade 12 ISC Board exams, we understand that these two years are particularly important in providing direction and trajectory to their career and lives before they leave as young adults.

In association therefore, with our accomplished and vibrant “SHGHS Alumni” we offer a unique, one-of-a-kind, ISC Integrated Curriculum which is designed to ensure our students carry a significant advantage going into the future.

Course Details: ISC – Integrated Curriculum

We offer 3 streams - Science, Commerce and Humanities

Study will include English, 3 Core subjects and 1 Elective subject. One Core subject however, may be dropped. Dropping a subject could be a strategic decision in preparing for competitive exams. For instance, with NEET which tests Phy-Chem-Bio (PCB), a student who opts for PCMB could drop Math to invest more time with PCB without having to worry about Math.

The combinations we offer by streams are as follows:

No Second Language.

Note: English (Language & Literature) are mandatory to all three streams and there is no second language.

ISC offers quite a remarkable course structure which enables students to prepare for competitive exams without having to lose time on irrelevant subjects or even a second language. And so further building upon this advantage is our unique ISC - Integrated Curriculum which includes:

+ Coaching for Competitive exams

+ Professional Skills Development

+ Real-life Projects and Simulations

Advantages of our Integrated Curriculum:

For Students pursuing Competitive Exams:

We know that when a student commits to study for a competitive exam, the routines are unforgiving for the next 2 years.

The following chart below indicates the work-life balance we seek to offer our students in stark contrast to those of students in other institutions. With this approach we not only want to lighten their burden but to also demonstrate how efficient planning, time management and discipline can produce better quality of life, favourable outcomes, more time to relax and reboot, pursue hobbies and career interests, and so on, without sacrificing on the quintessential effort required.

Further as part of the Integrated Curriculum, in the course of 2 years, students will engage in Professional Skills Development and Real-life Projects and Simulations.

Professional Skills Development:

  1. Seminars and Workshops led by accomplished members of the SHGHS Alumni

  2. Student Exchange Programs – In and Out-bound

  3. Enrol for Academic Applications such as Research Assistants, School Journal, Podcasts, etc

  4. Intra and Inter-School Events and Programs: Design and execute under the expert supervision of the SHGHS Alumni. Participation in inter-school competitions is also encouraged.

Real Life Projects and Simulations:

  1. Career Symposiums & Talks: Organise coordinating with the SHGHS Alumni especially on emerging trends and future opportunities

  2. Study Abroad Symposiums: Host to explore further study options led by the SHGHS Alumni

  3. Poiesis ’24 – The Inter School Cultural Fest of the School: where students plan and organise the entire event

  4. Experiential Learning: Vacation Internships, Industrial Visits, Stationary Shop, MUN, etc:

Hostel Facility Available !!!

In Conclusion:

The objective of the Integrated Curriculum is to ensure we give our students global exposure and as much of a holistic experience in these two very critical formative years before they progress into very specialized fields of study. We trust that at the end of these two years they would be stepping into their next course feeling a good head and shoulder above their peers there.

We hope to see you on this journey with us.
